got my site up, but the pics look good on the PC but on the Mac with IE they come out alot lighter, different gamma I supose. Is there anyway to fix this. SOme profile that adapts to Mac and PC?

has nothing to do with pc or mac or in certain browsers. has a lot to do with the screen, the settings and it's calibration. what screens are you using?

i disagree.
default mac gamma is 1.8 out of the box, pcs are 2.2 (same as television). most non graphics people don't change those settings, so it often is a platform thing.
i keep mine set somewhere in between, or set up multiple profiles and swap between.
finding a happy medium is what it's all about.

assuming pc peeps don't do a thing i'd agree with you, however if pc peeps are aware than it's just a screen thing.

haha, happy medium.
Im sure its a gamma issue. and weather some browsers use the embeded profile or not
Safari on the Mac doesnt have this problem on the same screen,

weird. in my book all browsers use the same color profile / settings. classic os that is. no idea about mac os x. then again ie is microsoft.

i had this issue as i was building the anse site.
tested in 4 pc browsers and two mac browsers all on the pc looked the same but ff and safari had different color profiles.
i only avoided the entire ordeal by enbedding the bakground into flash as well.
all the browsers do now is project the flash movie so congruency has been maintained between browsers.
i blame the browser os/version more than the comp/monitor

weird. i assume osx?

OS 9

you have that os9? that's even weirder. os9 has one colour profile for everything. except for programs like photoshop, illustrator etc. you can't change it per application.
