Slow down after some time?
Is it to many apps?
WTF

What do you mean by slow down? During the day or after a year? What Mac do you have?
- acescence0
some apps have memory leaks that cause gradual slowdowns.
i've been restarting every morning lately.. get a fresh start.
- rabattski0
yep. especially when i have eudora / ps7 and illy 9 open at the same time. at some point i have to restart. it's getting so slow that at one point if i would type an e-mail it takes about 5 seconds per keystroke to show it up. no idea why. i benchmarked once when it was that slow and it said: everything is ok! so, no clue.

have you ever thought of a possibility that your computer may not like you?
:P
- rabattski0
:) it's more not liking ps7. same setup but then with ps5.5 runs without a prob.

does it slow down ur mac if you put to many things in the dock? not loaded, just in the dock?
- vburo0
jebus, rabattski!! you still on os9 or something??
- rabattski0
hells yeah.
main machine = OS9
pismo = OS9/OSX
why?
does that mean -1?
coz i can still do what i want and need to do.

conspiracy...
planned obselecence.
your mac is programed to slow down gradually over a pre-determined amount of time forcing you to upgrade and inevitably by a newer mac.
- rabattski0
could be :) but it still runs smooth with older versions of software. still on ps 5.5, still in illy 8 & 9, still in xpress 4. and guess what, i still work. w00t. :)

how many megs of email do you have in Eudora? Might be the cause of all problems. Trash mail older than a year or so.
- rabattski0
yeah i know that eudora bug but it's the amount of mail in the fixed inbox and outbox. if that's huge it'll be slow, my in and outbox are empty, it's always filtered to some folder. cheers though. but i'm sure it's some weird ps 7 thing. ps 7 sucks anywyays.

same here, macos9.2.2, ill9 etc
