looks like NT drinks at lunch

Looks good, eh?
Didn't that start up at the same time as BD4D?
I went to a few of the London events they did back in the beginning and they were ok, no where near as organised as the Long Lunch stuff though.

I run LongLunch with a few other NT regulars. We actually started it 'cos London had BD4D and the Typo Circle, we had to come south if we wanted to see folks speak, so Ryan and Ryan at BD4D helped us get started, we've just kept the ball rolling ourselves. I think the BD4D guys got too busy in their careers to give these things the time they need - we're just skivers basically ;-) lol!
Soda, which events of ours have you made it to?

hi bcopeland, I actually meant the BD4D event rather than the Long Lunch stuff. Although I did hear from the airside crew that the longlunch events are excellent!
I just wish you guys would do some stuff south of the border to make up for the slackness in the BD4Ders!
Although I suppose I could just just get off my arse and try and arrange something myself and stop moaning!

Does Navyblue really have to run everything up here?
Have to admit it's the only really decent event bar T in the park that goes on up here.

I had NB: studio for breakfast

Tryptic is better than T in the park in my view

Hehehe, hiya derm. was a bit disappointed in not seeing the bowie.
Hey has maggy got a name yet for the baby? reminds me I have to send a congrats email.

what about us folk in the midlands? :))
- madeGB0
That's why I didn't stay long in sutton coldfield!

Navyblue don't run jack shit up north, where did you get that idea from? Andy M and me were there whilst we worked the other LLers to get it off the ground but we got no support from NB or the bosses. We'd love to run stuff south of the border but as we're discovered you really have to be local to organise offline events.
- derm0
keep on doing what you do, long lunch gets my support

Ah! so your not the scottish raj that jeremy paxman was on about? my fault.
- _smk0
which scottish radge? that's a bit vague :)
LL looks cool - good that someone can be arsed up here...
- bcopeland0
Someone's got i suppose, or there'd be f all to do up here. Esp given how small our wee industry is, where everyone knows everyone.
Well dinnae go missing Benrik next Thursday if your in Glasgow. And Peter Saville is on in Edinburgh in April. After that we've nothing arranged.
Is there anyone you'd especially like us to invite up north?
- madeGB0
North.
Vincent Frost.
sea.
madethought (paul or ben).
the guys from Bibliotheque.
Farrow.
Graphic Thought Facility.
Mode (even thought peeps dislike the website).I've probably remember the people I would most like to see later. If you could manage to get any of them it would be really cool!

I remember the BD4D talk that was in Beriln Bar and its was wank. The space was too small and if you stood on something to see what they were talking about you got kicked out.
The one for 'Form' was a better space, I could actually see what they were talking about.

I was at the berlin one I think... yes, it was too small and put me off altogether. The only other I've been to was Kyle Cooper in Glasgow ages ago and I got caught by him nicking one of his posters after everyone had gone home! :0
He was cool though and went and nicked another one from along a bit. We were renegade brothers.

the first LongLunch gig was at the Berlin Beerhaus. we (i just resigned my post last month due to not having the spare-time to dedicate to LL) had up mickey stretton up showing his work and the two ryans from bd4d were up here too.
it was a bad venue and it did put a lot of people off. but hey, it was the first one and we did learn from our mistakes.
since then, the gigs and venues have just got bigger and better.best wishes to the LL crew and LL in the future :)
u never know - could end up growing UKwide ;)
... next .... THE WORLD!!!

Hey c'mon the Mickey Stretton one at the Berline Beir Haus was our first. We didn't expect double the numbers we thught we'd have, or for the venue not to have a mac after they said they did! We've learned our lessons from the first few and it's now a lot lot smoother. Try it again, you'll be surprised how organised we are now ;-)
