british clubs haven't spent enough on developing young talent in the last twenty years and are only beginning to do so now.
something that Spain and France have done well.
brazil also.did you know how many footballers Brazil export each year? (the majority just on the basis that they are brazilian and therefore maybe inherantly good).
around six fucking hundred.

i think the reference to British players is more about british based players rather than a slight on their actual nationality.

Kuz, I took a guess you were either Liverpool or Leeds (btw - thanks for cantona)
Fed up of justifying my choice of club, let alone typing it out on a internet msg board
lets just say 22 years man and boy

then you should know about not using 'Man U' then, it's what the ABU's use.

I had a terrible time at school being a united fan.
I used to hate my dad for making me support them. The amount of grief I got.
Ron Atkinson...Sweet Jesus.
Those were the days.

But don't you see it, chelsea-proud-yesterday-winners... if mourinho's model of football keeps winning on the Premier you will end having an english football as competitive and boring as the italian one.
I'm now living in italia and the less important thing here of a football game is the game itself. Italian people speak only of football the whole week but they don't go to the stadiums or watch the games because the games are boring...
In spain, madrid or barcelona can win games and be booed by their own supporters beacuse at the same time if they are not playing "bien"...
i mean, if you had all the money try to be the real madrid or the barca or the Man Utd and not the f***ing Juve

I watched the wrong game - Man U fan here.
Totally gutted, but we never challenged, apart from giggs hitting the post we didn't even scare them! thoroughly disappointed!
I cant agree that Chelsea are boring to watch - Being Man U, and having such a scathing hatred for Arse, it is pleasing to see another British side do well that I can support when playing abroad
I cant bring myself to support Arse, even against German opposition!
CaP - what do I win??????

awesome awesome game.
I hate Chelsea, but u gotta show respect. They beat a quality side.
Goin all the way. (big respect to Lampard and Terry).

i wouldn't be surprised if Lyon takes it all. It wouldn't be the first time an underdog win.

joe cole was incredible

for a change. Relied on his pace rather than the normal flashy crap he tries to pull off.
To think Drogba and Robben are still to come back. Wot an outfit.

Ronaldihnos goal was class, the composure he had and then the cheak to toepoke it , intensionally into the net was awesome, best goal Ive seen since the famous Berchamp goal in France 98

I'll second that, what a brilliant game! Sure, the whole money situation at Chelsea is hated by most, but hey - they do have some English players there! The team look good, and if they can knock Barca out - who can stop them? Man U looked average.
Come on Liverpool!!
I'm a scouse myself, and can't stand what's going on at my club with all ahose fuckin Spanish Players!
Allow me to open another can of worms - Foreign players I think there should be a squad limit and a team limit - how are England suppose to get a dcent team together if our talent cannot get any time on the field!
Sorry have I digressed there?
- toe_knee0
once again the press have to sully what was a great game and put the negatives on the front page

Great game. The Barca keepr was blatantly held during Terry's winner but I think Chelsea deserved to win anyway. Cole was great going forward but ribbish tracking back. Terry and Lampard were amazing. Duff was great in the first half but seemed to get cancelled out in the second. Best game I've seen in a while! :)
