I've had those little shocks also.
Its only static from the headphones. Not an actual "current" or you'd fry. Its quite common with other devices also and can vary depending on shoes and carpet...

its probably just the crap music youve been listening to.

What've you been listening to, AC/DC???
- anzelina0
hahhahah ac/dc
i've had that happen too. maybe once or twice, it is just because of static, and can happen with any device, not just an ipod. i think mine happened when my headphones were plugged into my computer...
just stop shuffling across the carpet.

ipods as a weapon eh? mwahahahaaha

i had the same problem but figured out it was only happening when i carried my ipod in my bag and not my jacket, and sometimes when i was wearing a sweater. it is static electricity.

Are you listening to music you stole off the Internets?
I've heard rumors of this, this malicious placing of shocking songs on the webs.

Put on your headphones, then try to cover yourself with a fuzzy blanket. The static charge will shock the shit out of you. But it illustrates a problem with static, not the iPod.

when im bearefoot and hold the ipod and its connected to the computer i get shocks, i think, i dont remember well.
anyways, ipod headphones suck. mine sound so crappy now, and its not like i had the volume all the way up all the time, they just suck.

fuck that shit.
i hated the shocks. it never happened to any of my earphones.
its sending direct electronic signals to your brain so you will never give up buying more and more things from apple.

ipod is between me' ass crack. and its sure giving me some good statics

it is actually FROM the ipod, not the headphones.
I saw something on a mac world about it and how to fix it.
Basically you need to buy some special tape from radio shack and place it around the headphone's in connection.
I will look for the article tomorrow see if i can find it..

just now i was putting some papers into plastic sleeves, and then into a plastic binder, while listening to music on my computer through my headphones.
MAN i got tons of shocks from my headphones. i threw them across the desk. it was lot of little crackles and then a few bigger shocks. GROSS.
