cool, did you really need to use flash though?
- para0
good idea, ill change that.
- cloned0
the use of flash in a site like this allows future clients to understand he can use the software if wanted so i think its a good use of it to show technical aptitude
- para0

i would think clients could see that in his web work. whatever, it's a nice site i just don't like it when images make me wait to load.

I have to agree with Mr johndiggity here. It is a nice simple, easy to use site. But why use flash just because you can? Perhaps the projects in there can be flash projects - which will show that you are about to do so. Selection of the appropriate development techniques is becoming just as important these days - CSS is one to get into. I love flash, and the possibilities, so am absolutely not trying to oppose it's use.
There is some beautiful CSS stuff out there.
If the site had more elements in it's stucture, then it might warrent the use of flash?
Sorry guys, that became a touch longwinded!!
Peace

regardless if they preload into flash or slowly load line by line or the ever so cool pixelation blur ever image has to load into a browser no matter what so whats the difference?
waiting is waiting right?

good, simple concept.
its a bit difficult to navigate because of the way the nav is written out.. you can;t tell where items begin and end... maybe some more space between items?
Also, flash is making the copy in the nav look shitty. If copy is that small, I would use a pixel font.

Drop the Flash, no neeeed.
Your work is good and the design is clean, but I feel it needs something, it just feels a little ........boring?Insted of showing your logo in the identity section why not use it on your site?
- monNom0
It's not very persuasive.
at first blush, there's nothing to distinguish the site from any number of simple blogs or pages put together by amatures. It's not branded, and it doesn't sell it's self
I'm all for minimalism and conservatism in design, but you've gotta show-off a little bit.
If I was reviewing your portfolio, My first impression would be negative. nice work after you get in there, but 'you never get a second chance to make a first impression'
give it some 'wow'. even just a cool background image would do. maybe use one of your photos.
- tuan0
"give it some wow"
hahahahahahahahahahahaha
*presses wow button and turns coolnes knob up to 11

I think the site is real nice in flash. It doesn't need any wow factor I think because the work is strong and is impressive enough.
