Vormburo, where did your thread before go? I was gonna post in it.
Anyways, I got commissioned to do a real estate site. Anyone know of any quality links I could look at before I get started? I'm throwing around a few ideas but I'm trying to put together some sites for them to look at so I know which direction they wanna go in. Any help would be sweet. Carry on...

haha, i can NOT believe they deleted that thread!
oh well..
mattyd, unfortunatly the world of real estate has been infected with bad design. Meaning: i would not know even ONE good example.
sorry.
:/

yeah, thats the predicament i am facing right now. you should see the freaking logo! i cowered away in pain after looking at it. even if i do kick ass on the site i cant put it into my portfolio because their logo makes it look completely amateurish.

nonono they are rare but there are some good ones. what was that one that tdr did?

well then don't spend to much effort on the site either. take the money and run.
and never look back.

go to http://www.linkdup.com and view the entire database. Under promotional view Architectural + Property.

haha. that brings up another thing. i have to submit a proposal by wednesday. its gonna be about 17 pages with some pictures that need touching up and treatment. so with design and coding, whats a reasonable price to request?

that's the one, design done by tdr btw.

yeah, thats a little out of my league admittedly. also, i think we're looking at a conservative theme. that site is pretty nice for a real estate one though.

depends on so many things:
- amount of text
- do you need to write text as well? or hire a copywriter?
- how complex will the nav be?
- any mailforms? any details to it?basically you need to map out all that's necessary for that site and then you can make an estimation..
- mattyd0
not too much text. just text that describes the property. i dont think ill have to write anything. the nav wont be crazy but its going to have to be DHTML (they wont drop downs) and then i was probably going to do a litle site map in the page as well
ie (home > properties > apartments)
i dont think they want mailforms but there will be pop-ups and all that fun stuff so a decent amount of tedious coding is involved.
