If you've got nothing tying you to London, I think you should give it a go mate. Good luck!
- e-pill0
nyc is very similar to london...i am sure you can find your niche here or just try it for a lil bit...we can mmet for NT DRINKS NYC and catch up on your new life.

The experience and contacts you make here are more than worth it.
650-750 is very reasonable. I pay $475 and don't live in a closet.
- Dancer0
OK I'm gonna come over and maybe call on you NT people at some point. Perhaps we could have a small drinks tang :)
- dippy0
Kain, he said 650-750 for everything, which means not just rent but other expenses like food, transportation, utilities, Internet service, phone service, entertainment, etc.
But in general, £700 is fine. You shouldn't have much a problem.

btw, I just found out:
People who live in both NY and London have their own nickname: NYLONs. Heard it on Law & Order.
- tkmeister0
wait...£650-750 for airfare + accomodation? for how long?
if it'sounds about right. i think nyc-london in march should be around $300 then add accomodation...
NYLONs, thanks dippy, i feel a bit smarter now.
- Dancer0
Going for a week, I can get flights for £199 return or accom. (manhattan) and flight for £450. other expenses £250-£300.
Is this a go'er then?
Who will want to meet for a few sherbets as well then?
- one2meny0
if it's that much for a week, it's worth it, you'll have a lot of fun, weather should be nice in march too.

I was thinking of going to NYC but then they came up with that new slogan, 'the worlds second home', so I thought I'd better stay here.

seems like a good deal. exciting!

I interned in NYC for 6 weeks in 1992. Then went back in 2003 for 2 weeks to meet new contacts for contract work. I was there during the blackout. I wrote about my experience which can be read from my web site at http://www.tntomdesign.com and link to PR NEWs then NYC Trip Journal. Hope it might provide some insight.
