I wonder if the die-hard surfers said that when they put those wheels on planks of wood ?
;)

you can't ride a surfboard on the street...so there was a need for such a product.
no need for a "freeboard"...learn how to skate.
- blackspade0
fair enough :)
but such objection to new and innovative ideas cant be healthy
id be keen to have a jam at the very least

(Feb 17 05, 12:30)yes just do what you are told all you bad people, gosh! since when did individuality become a part of skating?
- fifty500
can't believe the close-minded mentality of some of you.
how can you be designers if you can't think out of the box? this is an innovation in skateboarding technology. sure it won't be the newest trend for all the little 12 year olds to go out and get one and it surely won't be HUGE, but it sure does look like a lot of fun.
- blackspade0
the only thing that would annoy me;
you cant just push along the flat right? like a normal skatie ?
fuck carrying it around till you find a hill
correct me if im wrong
- mogwai0
yes it looks like fun, now get back to your fruitbooters thread, fruitbooter!
god i love all the skatin threads today.
- cvirus0
what's innovative about it? it's a skateboard with unneccessary crap on it. it's redundant.
everything on that video can be done on skateboard without looking as moronic.

cvirus... I both sk8 and snowboard and have for 17 years and 7 years respectively and I'm guessing you've never snowboarded much (or ever) or are very good at it. That video shows to me that the essence of snowboarding has been captured by this product. I would be amazed if you can honestly tell me you can do frontside and backside powerslides like those guys are doing in that video, for so long and with such ease. I'd be amazed if you could do any length of powerslides backside on a sk8brd!
I'm with Blackspade, I'd love to give it a shot! Hey, if you're around dude let's go for a ride, Stacey Peralta style ;)
- blackspade0
hell yea
they wanted to achieve asnowboarding feel, that was the idea
i think your missing the point cvirus
they aint trying to replace skating
id like to see you do 360 drifts on a skateboard at that speed
i dun think so
- josimarX0
abso-fuckin-lutely... that dude at the end of the video isn't shy about rolling rouind 360 is he. At least the whole 'catching an edge' would be less severe aswell... you could probably get away with a lot more. You'd have to really, it being concrete an all!ooooya, it could get messy. Guaranteed, cvirus is a snowboard noob.
- cvirus0
19 skate and 10 snow, respectively.
The point is lost on me, I guess...I'm a skateboarding purist...I'm not saying I can do slides like that on a skateboard, but it really takes the challenge out of it and defeats the purpose to me.
If you've seen rippers like Julien Stranger bomb hills (and yeah, Peralta in Public Domain), you know it can be done and it's a lot more impressive than what I've seen in that freeboard video...seems like another gimmick that's cheapening skateboarding.
If I want to skate, I'll go skate...If I want to snowboard, I'll go snowboard...I don't want the two mixed...it's almost as retarded as this:
- josimarX0
I see exactly where you're coming from with posting that video... I did have my doubts when I saw the single spinny wheel in the middle of the board and thought gimmick! hey, it might be, probably will be, I'm not rushing out to buy one... BUT, there's no getting away from the fact that it looks smooth as butter some of that carving in that video – especially the scene where the guys's carving away into the distance over the 2/3 rollers in some suburban street.
I thought I was gonna be still arguing with you at this point cvirus but I reckon you got yo head screwed on so respect! and you can come cruisin with me and blackspade but I suggest you wear a helmet ;)
- cvirus0
word, josimarX. nice skate vid on your site, BTW.
maybe i'll come out and ride one of these:
http://www.triboard.00freehost.c…so extreme.
- josimarX0
hmm, it says 'inline' in the title. Fruit boot board, devil shoe board?... I'll stick to my skateboard with spinny 5th and 6th wheel for now thanks.
errr, my sk8 stuff on my site isn't my best stuff, honest!
- blackspade0
lmao at inline-board
nooooooooooo!!! ;)
- cvirus0
women are good at some things, men at others.
innovative idea = hermaphrodite.
whack.
- Fritz0
Id like to see a power slide around a turn on a skateboard with the smoothness and perform a 360 while turning comparable to the freeride... Its about people who dont have the environmental elements as the more fortunate ones who do. Gives accessibility to those who want to practice snowboarding.
Why does everything have to be ripp'n skateboarding?
- cvirus0
let me put it in terms of design, so you can understand:
skateboarding = garamond.
snowboarding = univers.
freeboard = comic sans.check this and let's see one of those freeboard locs try it:

- blackspade0
hot^
i would think of the freeride as more of a 'lowrider cruiser bike' in comparison
obviously no good for ollies and the like
