I have to use my old G3 laptop because I sold my G4.
Q: Is there a app which will read OS X .rtfd text file in OS 9, or will I have to convert the .rtfd to .txt

osx should run on these machines. unless you stuffed it with ram. .rtfd. should be able to read in word

why not install osx on yer G3?

Its one of the first models, G3 wall-street 233Mhz. it would run like crap. If you now what I mean.

is it a lombard/wallstreet or pismo? I'm runing os x fairly comfortavly on my pismo, but you'll need at least 320+mb ram for a reasonable experience.

running on a pismo as well. actually i run os x on an external firewire drive but also can boot up os 9 on the pbooks drive. must say os 9 is for an older machine a lot faster depending if you need to do some hardcore work or not. wouldn't suggest using os x if you do that.
