Just moved here last week from Ontario,
I Love it! nice area and still close enough to city life. Now I just need to find a job.... later

I have been thinking of moving to bc myself lately. I am in Onatio myself. Just don't fancy making the move without a job lined up, and not really knowing anyone over there who could put me up for a bit till I find something.
What made you move to Van D_Dot?
- D_Dot0
a mix of Snowboarding and job prospects. It was either Van or Toronto and people in Vancouver are just way more friendly which makes networking easier. I already have a freelance website lined up with the property manager of the apartment I just rented yesterday. If you have never been to Vancouver take a few days and book a dollar flight with Jetsgo. It's so worth it

it's interesting to see you say that people in vancouver are way friendlier...i've lived here all my life and i find most people to be really reserved and cliquey. most of my friends agree. I suppose part of it is, when you're new to a place, you become more open and meeting people is easier than in your own hometown. I've travelled to other cities and felt they were far more open, but that's probably because it was new to me, too.

I moved here from Halifax and I think people are not that friendly. I mean I've met some realy great people, but I dunno, everyone seems to wanna chance some image, some status or something. But I will say, the girls here are way hotter :P

I like Van...but the people aren't as friendly as you might think. It's a rad city....but it's definitely all about tha image.
It's ok though. I can still snowboard and masturbate on my own.

lol... well at least there are those of us who agree that most people here seem to have an attitude problem. maybe we should form a club.

people from vancouver don't have that much of an attitude. people from toronto, now THOSE people have an attitude!

* roles his eyes at leah and her boorish comment about torontonians
* sips on his latte and continues to read the financial section of the newspaper.

what i find odd is the amount of "Vancouver" discussion on NT (my guess = 1 thread/ week).. and all-over the internut for that matter!
don't get me wrong, i was born and raised in the lower mainland and love the city.. just find it strange how we like to talk about it so much (considering the relatively small scale of the city).
are we perhaps self-conscience of our little Vancouver.. seeking acceptance from the major league metropoli?

vancouver is one of canada's biggest city's! you want to talk small city? what about regina!
- nick0
what i have found to be the case is that there is simply just a lot of Canadians in general on the internets.

btw, Torontonians to have an attitude problem. its just their insecurity though... which is sad because Toronto is actually a really lovely city, lots of things to be proud of.. but it just seems as though everybody is trying to be something they just aren't quite.

do* have an attitude
its just their insecurity shinning* through
[and im not even high]
