Anyone see Horizon last night about global dimming and how it's made the greenhouse effect seem less pronounced.
Scary stuff.

We're all gonna die!
- System-Idle0
I saw bits of it , but missed the explanation of global dimming. can you explain

saw a docu about the worldwide oil shortage we'll face in about 15-20 years.
if we're not going to invent something to replace the oil now we have a problemo the next decades.
and they said hydrogen isn't the solution because you need a lot of energy to produce it.

thanks for the link.
Its time to get active \:o
kicking politicians asses!!"These issues have yet to be properly confronted. But the good news is that we already have the technologies needed to solve the problem of greenhouse gases (principally energy conservation measures and nuclear power); what we so far lack is the political will to use them."
- ********0
Yeah. Nuclear power. Cos that's really safe innit.
I'd rather burn rainforests.
- System-Idle0
I didnt like the sound of that Either, but we have natural sources that could be used to greater extent ie wind / water etc.
using hybrid cars would also help but the gov dont push any of this fast enough

we can produce enough fuel using hemp, oil and alchohol burning engines can be fueled with hemp products very cost effectively too.
*now stone me for bein' a fucken hippy
- System-Idle0
wasnt there a car that could run and its only by product was water?
didnt some big car company's get thier filthy hands on the rights to these hemp/ water cars
- ********0
System that's the hydrogen engine, hydrogen (H) burns (combines with Oxygen (O) ) and produces only water (H2O)
- lowimpakt0
the shit will really hit the fan when the emerging economies get into gear.
- winter0
major problems for the next years indeed. cannot hydrogen produce hydrogen?
- Bluejam0
The key to saving energy isn't finding more effective ways to consume or work or any of that shit which is modern life but rather enjoying yourLife™ at your own pace/choosing.
Orsomethinglikethat.

i would like to be a hippie but i haven't enough money...

cool mx
just found this link http://www.hasslberger.com/tecno…
"As for building this device to sell as a completed system, that's a dead issue. In 1983, I contacted the Department of Energy to show them that my car actually worked. I was confronted by two very belligerent 'agents of tyrannical oppression' who told me that if I tried to sell pre-built units, I'd have a lot of "problems". I asked zhy, demanding an explanation, asd was told very bluntly, and not in a very nice tone: "Do you have any idea what a device like this, available to the public, would do to the economy?" "
winter that funny :)

The only sure way to not consume energy is to change all our lifestyles. I like the programme said. We're going to have to make some hard choices
- ********0
Wind turbines on roofs. Imagine never paying for electric again.
It would be here if it weren't for Corporate monsters.
- Blofeldt0
I reckon what ever we do to create energy will have an effect on our environment. WLoads of wind turbines will probably effect the gulf stream or something
- winter0
it'll happen eventually. transition has to be made softly so that economies hold.
power will always be in the same hands imho. power is energy too and the only way to produce more power
