Relocation: Bahamas -> UK

Hi everyone, you may or may not know me, and equally you may or may not care, but I am seeking some friendly advice on relocating to the U.K.
Born and raised in The Bahamas, I been working at a local ad agency/t-shirt shop for the past 5 years and have grown weary of this place. I am currently looking into moving to the U.K. and furthering my design career.
Is there anyone out there in this wonderful community who may be able to give me a few insights on what to expect? I have planned a trip to England at the end of this month to check out the scene and shop my resume around. Hell, at this point I'm willing to accept any job that will allow me to pay rent -- designing or otherwise.
What are my chances?
Any help at all would be deeply appreciated.
