printing one shirt is going to be extremely expensive, if the printer will even touch the job. It is an awful lot of setup for one t-shirt. you should read some books about screenprinting if you are interested in small runs. printing on blacks all depends on the type of inks that your printer uses. if they use super opaque inks, no white base coat is necessary.

so is screenprinting the best option if you can affor it then? and screenprinting can be done on all coloured clothes... even dark ones?
you guys know anything about flock/plott methods? only drawback im finding is that then youre limited to one/two colours

yeah....screenprinting is the way to go and u can do it on any color...but it is expansive in low quantaties, but cheep if printing many....that is beacuse of the setup cost.

I haven't had need to usehim for a few years now, but I always used to use this guy - http://www.stop-the-press.co.uk .
He runs his own hand-press and such, so is more along the lines of a creative than some digital print shop. Perfect if you're wanting to work WITH someone - less so if you just want some cheap logos hoiked onto cheap fabric.

Thanks detritus, think it's a choice between them and www.tshirtdave.com now...
