i'm computerless. my mac left me on 25.12.
tried to change monitors while running, now i can't turn him on anymore. a small blink of the powerbutton and then - silence.

sucks, can you take it back?
- pascii0
no. that's the sad thing about. i will try a motherboard reset and pray it'll work. else i will be poor.

Did it happen after the 10.37 update? Tried resetting PRAM... or do you even get that far?
What kind is it? My old iBook did the exact same thing...

where is that?

'spose it must be somewhere here. http://docs.info.apple.com/artic…

if you don't get it up and running, i surggest you move straight to the midlife crises thread.. .

you might try Disk Warrior. You'll need to purchase and boot from the CD.
good luck.

Couple of things to try.
Try Resetting the PRAM, by holding down the P R and Open Apple and Control keys. If it starts up, keep holding the keys until it chimes 3 times and then release.
Next thing to try is resetting the CODA, which is a little button on the inside of your mac by the battery. Press and hold the button for no longer than 5 seconds, then try to restart.
If none of that works, take it to a service shop.
Best of luck

My PowerBook got fried going through airport scanners during the holidays. All that comes up is the Apple and gray screen.
Now the HD needs to be replaced.

happens to mine whenever there is a power surge. reset the logic board and all should be fine. just count to 5 slowly while holding the button down.
