Any of you electric guitarists out there ever use a wireless system in your rig? Opinions, experiences, etc would be appreciated.

Live? or for Recording. For recording I would say never.
- dippy0
No, for a live setting. I got plenty of Monster cables for studio recording.

i used to play with a guy that had one (sampson), and it was pretty much a pain in the ass; always breaking down, picking up radio waves (a la spinal tap), etc.
i'd avoid.

k0na has the power, literally, to hijack all threads. *wishes he was k0na

Thanks tny.
Anyone else?

Never live, never for recording.
If you want to read something cool about live setups, go here and read about Matt Bellamy of Muse, and his guitar setup. I've unfortunatly never seen them live but his guitars and setup blows my mind. FYI, if you go to guitargeek.com and find his setup there, it is very out of date.

was wondering when you were gonna show up, mg33. Thanks for the links.
I was considering the wireless setup cos of the freedom of movement it promises. But it sounds like it's not really worth it.

don't play near airports, too much interference

Ha, I'm on vacation man! NT is for work hours, you know?
Just kidding.

i never saw the benefit of having wireless if only to have more freedom to walk around, get a long cable and you can do the same thing, and it'll sound better.
are you doing flips & sumersults?
plus you wont have 9V's to replace.
hendrix didnt use wireless, neither should you.
- dippy0
haha, no flips and somersaults. i'm not in the circus. good point about the 9Vs too.
