Just woken up in my office. Head slightly pasty. Perception of the world's faults appears, however to to be in a honed state of razor acuteness.
One of my client's just phoned for what I can only surmise was a 'quick chat'. It was his call that roused me from my slumber. "...so I need a rundown of any outstanding invoices, so I can send you a cheque" is all I really hear during our conversation. So naturally, I oblige. I am a conscientious business-owner, after all.
Thing is, I can tell in his voice he doesn't really care about the invoice. in fact, when I return his call with the answer, he could hardly appear less interested.
So why did he call? more precisely, why did he make a point of calling at 10.30 on a saturday morning, when generally there's no one here? Was he somehow aware of my presence at the office? Was it mere fluke (I think not)? Is he lonely? How did he know to phone to the extension that was closest to my snoozing head? There's a pattern here, I know it.
Dark karma from some past indiscretion.
I shall divine it yet.

maybe he was planing to burgle your office.

He wants to touch your fun-schlong.

my fun-schlong is skewed and unprincipalled; it's somewhat likely to retaliate unconventionally.

i'm sorry. i've been inhaling absinthe for the past hour - supping sweet vapour from the delicate flute of oblivion.
