doing a bit of research on this now, found a component, but it uses Javascript and is buggy as all hell. I'm now working on a process that will use php/mySQL just to tell if a file has been uploaded... or something like that.
Anyone done this already, and how?

have u tried this?
wel ,another solution is to popup a php form that will trigger a javascript alert to the parent window [and to the flash file] indicating if the upload went well.

Im really trying to avoid javascript/Flash methods. I've not had very positive results in the past. Plan thus far: a popup to upload then calling a php file that will look for a field an sql db that flags uploaded or not.

I ended up using a popup with a PHP page to take the form upload and notify flash when it was done. Have had it work very well on all modern browsers.

Agree with neb, skip all the comps and just use a PHP form that notifys flash on success
