Howdy folks, doing an ickle flash e-christmas card for a client. My boss wants to be able to see it, like an image or ezine, when you open the email. Is this possible or do I just have to make a link to a web page with the .swf on there?
Any help much appreciated!

I'm certainly no expert, but I can't imagine why any email client in it's right mind that would display embeded objects. Give it a test, but I think your only option is to link to the file.

no, hyperlink to a http://blabla

Yeah thats what I thought, and I tried to explain it to the boss but I got the reply, 'Do it! Do it!'
Ah well.

you can embed flash, an online flash anyway, but default settings on new outlook and outlook express do not let it show, thunderbird is a no-show

it's not a particularly good solution, best to link to a web page from standard graphic email.

or send an attached stand alone fullscreen flash animation as .exe maybe?

Right the .exe will be like a flash projector file? If im on a mac can I make one of those .exe files?

you might have some problems with getting the .exe files through the mail servers tho.

No kidding.
Even IF you guys don't get flagged do you seriously expect people to open some random e-greeting's executable?OK, some people would, but the rest would just assume you're phishing.

Lots of email systems reject exe files as they're a common source of viruses.

hm.
last suggestion: send them a cd-rom by regular mail.
now that's chique.
