looking for horzontal scrollbars or anything that looks out of place. state your os and browser with any problems. also let me know if you have any custom style sheets turned on or any specific font sizing, i.e. telling safari not to display fonts smaller than 9 pts. no work yet, i want to get the interface and everything sorted out. thanks a bunch internet friends.

works perfectly in safari 10.3, though I'm not sure why the main content needs to dissapear when you click on news.

I personally like it.
but i want to see how you deal with content..
- johndiggity0
main content will appear in the larger column with info and links to the right in the smaller column, sort of like a drill-down menu. i did think this through... i think. thanks so far.

pretty slick, but you need to change the standard scrollbar from flash into some that matches the rest of the site
- johndiggity0
i don't have any flash going on, and i didn't fuck with anything except the jump menu. screen shot? should i go dhtml on the bars?

getting a horizontal scroll on firefox PC Win XP
- designerror0
me too, maybe you should just disable them.. well, i suck at html so don't listen to me
- johndiggity0
dammit. i have no idea why that is happening. any guesses?

try having your profile text sit inside an absolutely pos'd div, with overflow: hidden and a width set that allows for a margin, that itself, sits inside a div with a fixed width and height ,but has an overflow of visible
- johndiggity0
i've got it like the first part right now: abs pos'd div, margin of 20px for scrollbar, but overflow set to scroll, so it can scroll vertical. will nesting the divs and setting the outer to hidden and the inner to visable still allow a vertical scroll? i appreciate your help.
- versa0
i think it will, and set your outer div to overflow: auto
i know, i know it seems weird, but try it

I used to describe myself in the third person on my site until someone pointed out that it was weird. Now I can't help but think that way also. That said, the site looks good. Maybe some more lead in the profile/body text.

my high school english teacher always said to never to make any references to the notion of self in any type of formal writing and i just stuck with it. i'm using first person in the news section though. i don't know, just thought it's easier for others to read and it doesn't sound like i am talking to myself.
- nice-land0
good with it then. I consistantly received bad grades in english.
Did you happen to read the thread about mr.snuggles site. I think your statements about being willing to work long hours with low pay is only going to hurt you, and this industry, in the long run. I've found that the clients who are willing to pay the highest rates are the ones who pay on time and give the most respect. Give an inch... blah blah blah. Devalue yourself or the work and you are asking for a world of hurt. IMHO
- johndiggity0
i'm just trying to have some fun with it, not seriously saying i will work for cheap, just making light of the way things are. maybe i should scrap it if it is coming off the wrong way. never thought about that.
- nice-land0
If I were a client and the first thing I read was that your willing to work for cheap I would
a) wonder what is wrong with you that you don't get paid well for the work you produce or assume you fresh out of school and willing to work only for the experience then...
b) try to low ball you since you've already told me that you're willing to do for the love of it.
Trust me, the more you ask for in the beginning the more someone will think that they're getting the best for their money. Perceived value is where it's at.

Looks great in Camino osx10.3.6
Only small thing i noticed was when i use the scroll bar the top bar of dots goes from being 5 rows of dots to 2 row.
This doen't look bad at all, might be intentional?
good stuff :)
- johndiggity0
point taken. i'll rewrite it. we can't be losing money now can we?
- nice-land0
save the low-pay projects for a worthy cause... friends, environment, love interest.
