is it still 800?
or have we moved to 1024?
getting ready to build company site and was wondering if i should move to 1024.
any thoughts?

check your stats....or theirs...always design for your target audience...if *significantly* more people are hitting your site with 1024x768 then you're probably safe designing with that res in mind - but never out-design for people who may be hitting with 8x6....

hehe good question... I think we are still in between + I think it depends on the type of audience too. What type of company will be this site for?

for a kiosk software company. user interface developement, remote management and security software in the HR, Retail, Vending markets..etc,
some competitve sites are both 800 or 1024.. it varies.
there is a lot to say in this space and a lot the company offers, so having more room would help.

make sure 8x6 users can at least scroll to the content.

do they have a current website?

ok...so check the stats from their current site and see what percentage are hitting the site with a higher res than 8x6...then make an informed and educated decision based on that

i think 8x6 would do the job but still try looking at the stats they will surly help you out.
