KL. Shit I lived there for 9 months and couldn't find any other NTers. We left because my wife was sick of being almost raped every day by the supposedly devote muslims. The government of the state of Triganu [sp] put it best. Women who don't wear full head dress deserve to be raped.

Find it hard to believe your wife was fed up of being nearly raped.. no need to exaggerate .. I assume they were staring at her.. thats normal man..
Every white girl gets eyed up by the locals here.. they even think the ugly ones are beauties!
where were u staying btw?

we pretty much stuck to Bangsar but spent quite some time up Treganu and Kuantan. my lady would brave the non-white markets with me, but it was hard for me too. the way young kids looked at her freaked me out.
she was finally grabbed one night in a cab and we bailed out shortly after.
that said i made some lifelong friends in that time. loved the food and learnt a great respect for the muslim family and islam.
sorry to come on so harsh

oh.. sorry to hear that.. I have heard of instances like that before actually.. of women being abducted by so-called taxi drivers.. the problem is that taxi's are so un-regulated here that basically anyone can jump in a taxi and drive it around.. you can hire them for RM50 a day...
I've been here for 18 months now.. and like you.. loving the food especially!!
And the standard of living for the cost is fantastic..
So no more KL-ites out there..
*disappointed*

Me and my girlfriend went to Bali last summer and made our two day stop in KL. I do not like this city. It is dirty, only large and unplesant looking buildings, dirty markets with strangely looking women. 90% of the women are covered with that traditional muslim clotthing. I felt completely unsafe. However, my girlfriend had no complaints about 'look' or 'rapers' when walkin beside me. If you guys gave me $10 million, i would still not even think living there, sorry.

im doing film and animation in MMU and bit of freelancing. u working for which company?
by the way we love our country..its vibrant. go and stay in bali and get bombed

i can't believe all this KL hate! how can people be so offended by headscarves? Malaysia is lovely. i'm dreaming of teh tarik and roti canai right now :)

KL is a great city, I loved my time there. Even though it was around 9/11 so it got a bit hairy.
I would seriously consider working there if it came up.
In regards to funny looks, I'm married to an Indian girl so I'm use to getting stared at but I still ended up shouting at a couple of starers!

I'll second Vespa on that. The food was fantastic... Getting proper dosa for next to nothing. Can't beat it!
- raksasa0
if u guys coming here.. i'll buy u guys lots of teh tariks..hehe

my thoughts exactly Dutchboy, but two strikes down the line I didn't want to pick up the ignorant twat on such a stupid remark.
