So I've seen a bunch of sweet photos various people here on NT take while snowboarding and I'm wondering what kind of protection do you folks use for your camera's while you're out riding? Thanks!

None, it's pretty dinky so I just keep it in the pocket of my trousers.
If you're touting an SLR then http://www.lowepro.com/Products/… do some pretty sturdy bags. Seen a few other brands in the snowboard mags too but can't remember their names, sorry.

good old zip lock bag

I'm more worried about bailing and crushing the camera under me or something...

have you noticed that most snowboarding shots are taken on super nice days.... its not just because of the nice light...
- danthon0
I used to worry about bails too... just look for sherman and fall on him

DAKINE makes a good bag.

i just toss my digi in my pants pocket... sans bag. i'm more worried about hurting myself on teh camera if i bail then destroying the camera itself.
i take my digi if i'm out just fucking around but if i take my slr up for the day to do some serious shooting i use the burton zoom pack but since i bought that pack better ones have surfaced by dakine and ogio... ogio makes some sick bags.

just use cheap cams like an Ixus 400...

the Gravis 'cell pockets' are nice for small cameras in the pocket

put it in a cargo pocket.
it is sorta hard to fall on it then.
and your hip too, cause cargos are soooo "it".

anyone with a helmet videocam?
i need one for mountainbiking.

stick your digi in one of these and throw it on your bag

If you are shooting digi, you will find that access is the key. Even keeping your cam in a pack is enough to make you hesitate about pulling it out just for a snapshot. They are tougher than you think! I used to keep mine in a wool sock in my chest/goggle pocket. Any case will make it far too bukly and you will end up leaving it at home.
If you are shooting SLR... then you already have a pack and know all about how to ride with it.
