Gameboy Advnc Q...

Got a little question here. Each year my somewhat large corporate conglomerate company sponsors some needy children with a Christmas tree. We have their name and age and what not on sheets of red paper, you take the sheet of the child you would like to buy a present for and it says what they would like for Christmas. It has 3 choices, (most are like a basketball, or barbie doll) then a 'if my dream were to come true' choice and a little bit of background on the child.
So, I grabbed Jackob, an 11 year old who's dream gift would be a Gameboy Advance. My question:
Help me out a bit. I assume the Gameboy Advance SP is the cooler/better one to get right?!? Not knowing much about the Gameboy I have no idea of any cool games this kid might like. Can you give me a couple selections?!?
Not that I'm rolling in the dough or anything, but what little I do have to give I figure I'd like to make some kid's Christmas rock ass.
Thanks in advance all.

SP is the way to go. The original version doesn't have a backlight or fold to protect the screen. Very nice of you.

thanks testpilot. looking online i thought so.

that's a nice gesture for real.
the only thing that would make me stray away from it is once the kid has it, he's gonna want more games, and if he has parents or guaridans, they may not be able to fund for newer games know what i mean? that's the prob with videogames. i would consider making the other two selections more kickass, like a better version of whatever dude wanted.
peace, and thats nice of u

The Gameboy SP is definately the one to get. Thats a great thing to do and the kid will really enjoy it.
As far as games go, you cant go wrong with any Pokemon games. My personal favorite is Pokemon Sapphire

One other thing you might consider... hit up a Game Spot or EB or whatever's in near you and scoop the kid a couple of games used for the price of one new game... also, those guys who work there are totally up on what the kids like, so they'll be able to give you some advice on the games...
BTW you get a happy face on your report card :)

Kids love Yu Gi Oh. Everytime im on a plane and find a kid playing with a gameboy. Its allways Yu Gi Oh. Or Pokemon.. or Some collecting game.
But yeah cant go wrong with Mario or sonic either.

Kick ass, kOna.
That's gonna bring this kid a greater understanding of this werld. Like "wow! there are a few good people out there."
Sonic is a good game for the kiddies on SP. Stay away from 007 or Splinter Cell... too complicated.

go balls out and get them the new DS, it can play all existing gameboy advance games as well as any new DS games...

head to your local chinatown and look for the 150-games-in-one cartridges. you won't find these at bestbuy.
that should suffice.

do it... there only 99bucks
and there are tonnes of games.
the new double screen one just came out so the sp will be even cheaper.worth it to give a kid a xmas.
