Does anyone know how it runs? And is there adequate room for pallats?Looking at either that or the dual 2 Ghz G5.
Number one would be the powerbook for portability- but if FlashMX is gonna be crap than i dont want to chance it.

it's not going to be a big difference between those machines. Go with the powerbook -> Flash player 8 will be out sooner than you think and that will offer an IMMENSE performance boost. Say goodbye to the handicap mac flash player! Of course...if you have the cash get a dual 2.5 as well..worth every penny!

Working in Flash on a 17" Powerbook is great. 1140x900 is a great resolution size for al the palletes. I use it everyday. At work, I have a G5 with a monitor set at 1280. Not much difference.

I use a 12" pb and 17" flat screen combo and love it.

I dont understand why the question here..
Flash is not that processor intensive software, or is it?
i used to run it with no problems on a quicksilver on mac os9, a looong time ago..so my point is, you can probably run flash perfectly on an imac g3 too!
peace

I meant 1440x900 resolution for the 17" Powerbooks.
My typing is not that great when I'm hungry.

Couple things.
It runs alot better on the G5.
Flash 8 is around the corner and will be very very nice. Frame rates that run at 15 will now run at like 150
...
The flash program runs fine on my 17 inch if that is what you are concerned about. Personally I would get a powerbook and design so your flash pieces run smooth on everything.

All I use is the 17 inch and it works great. Plenty of space for everything. Are we talkign space or performance or both?

works great for me.

Space and performance are key issues - thanks for your help - the guy at the local mac shop is allowing me to install my flashmx on there and do some testing!
