a whois search returned the address of someone who has been spamming the hell out of your inbox for months, and repeated attempts to 'unsubscribe' have proven unsuccessful?
what's the best method of recourse?
-leave it alone, it's not worth it?
-a well thought out practical joke?
-ninja boot camp about to pay off?
-about to live out san andreas?

by the way, i'm not in this position, but i have been getting spammed to death by this one company whos not even in my state, but it made me wonder what most people would do.

dude. when you click unsubscribe that sends the sender a message that you have a valid email: hence, more spam.
- SteveJobs0
yes, that's the case sometimes but not always.
- jevad0
actually - on unsolicited spam - it's always the case.

i've been getting a lot of viruses from people on this site.
i don't really care at all - but it's funny to see where this stuff comes from.

Actually from what I heard, when you click that unsubscribe button it actually does unsubscribe you, but doesn't necessarily mean they can't subscribe you to another mailing list at the same time.

Well, if you even open up the e-mail, they can they've hit a valid e-mail address. So if you're opening up the mail and clicking 'unsub', well that doesn't matter much, cuz they already know they have you.
I would post their information on a public forum as a known spammer and then see how creative we can get.

report them to Bill Gates. *cough

Doesn't your hosting company allow you to block domains/IPs server side?
Get on with your life - I get 300+ spam a day :(
- Nac0
Ya alot of spam these days even though there were 'regulations' put into place. Some hosting companies do have server side sspam blockers, I think most like MT cost an extra $5 a month.

that whois can be spoofed.
