My company is doing a promotional email blast. My boss wants me to send the emails in both HTML and plain text at the same time. He says that it can be done by defining an HTML part of the email and a plain text part and that the client's email program will interpret it depending on the users preferences.
I told him he was wrong. I've looked all over and haven't seen such a thing. Anybody know about it?

One way to do it:
http://www.topica.com
Use your own custom HTML/text multipart, tracks all link clicks etc... $24.95/mth for up to 10,000 mails or something
