I recently demolished my truck in a Dukes of Hazzard style 50 airborn flip and roll.
Consequently my iPod which was in my glovebox was submerged in water.
Has anyone had an iPod survive water damage of this nature. Can it be dryed out? Or does anyone have exp with Apple's return/warranty poicys?

not an ipod, but a laptop computer and cell phone.
i left my laptop on my passenger seat of my car. went into jewel with the sunroof open. a freak downpour occured out of knowhere. it rained so hard so fast there was a puddle of water in my leather seat submerging the laptop. i pulled it out and left in in the window of my home to dry out for 4 days. turned it on and whalla. started right up. just a bit in the upper right hand corner of the screen was boo-fooed.
same with cell phone cept it uh, fell out in a... uh.. hot tub party.
left it off for 3 days. turned in on and it's fine.
the best thing you can do is to let it dry for a few days. put it in the sun in the window sill or something.
hopefully your screen will be cool.

just don't turn it on while it's wet... you'll fry the shit out of it... good luck.

thnx bros,
I have it on lock so power can't be turned on and am letting it dry out now.
Do you think the sun might fudge the screen?

just put it in a warm room for a week or so.. my old 5gb iPod had a nasty meeting with me and my bathtub last last year.. dried it out for a week and it was all fine..

I'd take the back off to expose the innards... it will dry faster that way...
There are some battery replacement tutorials on the web that'll show you how to jimmy it open without damaging it.
