jvc has a single chip consumer model around 4k, the rest are going to be at the pro level.
- derek30
HD is way too expensive for consumer right now... wait like 8 months... prices will drop...

HD is stupid. 24p!!!!!!
- derek30

24P HD is where its at...
:D
- derek30
i have the panasonic 24P... its fucking amazing...but i would love that in high def, and the ability to film in various frame rates, like 23 FPS or 60 FPS for slowmo...

My brother showed me this badass Sony HD camera on a japanese sony site.
That thing was hard-core! If I can find a link, I'll post it.

price for pound, my wish list for 3ccd chip might go something like this...
1) canon xl2 - 6k - you can add lenses to it
2) pana 100a - 4k - cheaper and great too
3) pana gs400 - 1k - best deal all the way around + it's tiny
4) pana dvc30 - 2k - almost as new as the gs400, but better made
- derek30
i heard the canon xl2 was getting bad reviews...
- robotron3k0
i think we all expected more from xl2, but canon isn't know to be cutting edge. the xl systems are much bigger cameras than the pana 100 series, so it's for a dif use altogether. more lockdown, A cameras, better when you have a controlled situation. the pana come in handy cause they are more mobile, ideal for doc, tv or movie work. and from what i've seen, the gs400 image is beling compared to the xl1/s image quality!!!, because the chip technology is soooo new!
- derek30
totally with ya there...
- kbags0
What about this?
- ctrlRmB0
That sony cam is cool...
but it's not true 24P
The next panasonic needs 24P and HDV and variable frame rates...
- kbags0
dzzzzzt...dzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZT!!!
That's insane-o, derek!
What, were you filming a rap vid?
- kbags0
So I suppose it's a question of purpose?
Sony DCR-VX2100 for film-esque projects or HDR-FX1 for tv commercials?
