im a little disapointed.

i heard it was a suicide note sort of... just in music... but i haven't heard but bits and pieces so far
- de4k0
dont say that, I've quite literally just bought the thing.

im disapointed only beacuse most of the songs just sounds really similar. its still nice stuff, but dont seem like he pushed much.
too bad its his last.

you guys are fools. This was a two disk set narrowed down to 1 disk by the family, picking songs that covered his vast styles of music.
Some songs are political (King's Crossing.. Memory Lane), some are positive (Don't Go Down) and of course some are going to be oppressed. That's Elliott.
In a recent interview, Elliott said that was proud of this album and I can see why. Give it another listen. There's so many layers and textures in the songs.
Also, don't go looking for a final cry for help or a suicide note because it's not there.

"but dont seem like he pushed much"
yeah he must have been a bit pre-occupied with his impending suicide...

got the album the other day. its good but not "stand-out great".
mind you sometimes albums have to grow on you.i do like the multiple layers and the really dirty drums in some of the tracks.
as for the suicide note bit, well thats what the press has picked up on and if you read any reviews of the album it states it is a kind of suicide note.
elliot might not have meant it as a suicide note, but his record company are certainly pushing it as one.
- and i bet it shows in the sales of the album:P

remember when homer got his hands stuck in the vending machine at work?

I like it.

All his albums are rather somber. I can't wait to finish this album so I can kill myself... hardly makes sense. RIP dude.

if you don't like it, don't listen to it.

I like it.
Good that they didnt mix it beyond what he did. Id rather have it scrappy rather than polished.
