Ok, I am starting to get to grips with the power of CSS, but for some reason Firefox is the only browser that does not listen to all my styles.
Anyone else had this probelm?

what's the problem?

with all due respect, its your code, not the browser. firefox is the dope shit when it comes to css. never have issues with it.

Mainly, the alignment of text.
If I centre my the site in a table cell, the text centres as well.
I may well be going about this in an unsual way, and perhaps read a book, but I'm all for the self teaching

there's where you're going wrong, use css positioning for layout.

If you centre your site then text within it will centre too...
therefore make a new style which you can apply to p tags and the like which aligns them how you want....

if you centre the site in a table cell, the text SHOULD be centered. thats not a css issue, thats the way it should be.
as mirola says, you should be using tables for layout anyway, but even if you use css for layouts the issue will remain - if you centre your site within a div, the text will be centered too. until you tell it not to be.

" as mirola says, you should be using tables for layout anyway"
whoops, should NOT, not should.

Dancer,
I seriously reccomend this book....
I've learned so much with it as a starting point...also
don't use table cells if you're using css... do the same with a div
