flash/mac issues

so I've done a site that works like a charm on PC. But guess what....yep, it fails on the Mac. Here's the deal...the main site and content comes in and then loads a spotlight movie....so far so good, even on the Mac. But when you click any button, it fails to load the subsequent sections.
The click calls the "switcher" function with "select" and "nextSection" parameters. The function then tells the main movie to go to "loadNext", a frame with only a preloader on it. Once the preloader has hit 100, it tells the loaded movie to go to "sectionGo"...
All this works fine on a PC, but chokes on a mac. Does anyone have any similar experience that may help me in this situation?
If you think it will help, I can post the button and function code, but the function is kinda lengthy, so I left it off for now...

oh, this might help...

it load external swf's? in the same folder or a different folder?
- stewart0
i'm on mac and i've heard that it had something to do with the way you preload and the place you load the external swf into.
do you load those files into a level or a target movie?
i use scripts like
button.onRelease = function() {
_root.targetMC.loadMovie("extern...
}it might surprise you, but this never failed!

thanks for the responses guys...
Yes, I'm loading external swf's from the same directory, into a target movie clip.
Stewart, I will give that a try. As of now, I just use the LoadMovie command, and target the clip...I will try it the other way and see if that works. Thanks again for your time..
Any other suggestions?

no luck on that one stewart...your script has the same effect....works on PC, nothing on Mac.
I don't know if this helps or not, but the name of the .swf to be loaded is Dynamically created by whichever button is pressed. So this is the loadMovie code:
_root.movieHouse.loadMovie(nextS... add ".swf")
Also, I know the main movie is going to the "load" frame, because I can see the preloader for a split second. But then it dissapears and nothing happens...
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

phew Jman
so there is something else wrong in the preloader.
really weird. i'd love to see a .fla file with the code.

can you test & publish the source files on a mac? you might want to do that and check the output / debugger first. could very well be it doesn't load the actual file.
- Jman0
good point Rabbatski...I'll try that out.
But the thing that gets me, is why does it work on a PC and not on a mac? this is such a pain in the ass...
- stewart0
email me a flashfile jman, i have a few minutes now to look at it.
- Jman0
stewart, sorry, I had to go out of the office for a bit....can you still take a look at my file?
- stewart0
sure,
but can it wait till tomorrow?i'm brushing my teeth right now, and planned to hit the hay early this night :)
- Jman0
hey man, that's cool....I went ahead and sent the file. Whenever you can look at it would be great. I didn't think about where you might be, as it is only 3:35 pm in Tennessee, USA :)
Thanks again for your time

Jox...do the other sections load when you click on the Nav buttons?
I've heard from other Mac users that the other sections won't load. But the Nav and the Spotlight are both loaded movies, so it doesn't make sense to me..
If it works for you, then I have no idea what to do...
- Jman0
jox, this might sound silly, but could you send me a screenshot of one of the "services" sections working on your mac? That would probably get me out of hot water with the boss until I can maybe figure this thing out...
- Jman0
bump for any new suggestions
