yes driftlab, I have hanged out with 1024X768 on a 17inch at work and 19 inch at home for two weeks for a project. I can say it is a different experience, and 120 hertz is nice as well.

1600x1200 or nothing. Apps like PS or Flash just get to cluttered otherwise.

I was like oh this should be the optimum resolution but working can be pain in the ass in flash or ps like mentioned.

might be that i mentioned that 1280x1024 squeezes the pic.. thats why i use 1280x960.
only does so on a monitor that has natural 4x3.
most TFT have 1280x1024 without stretching.
