Well, I like him. Even if he did tell the Irish coach to go to hell the last World Cup. He's gritty and a real man.

and thats what jaxz finds attractive.

he's a real ninjaw

i like him too.
I read his book a couple of months ago, and it went into detail of what happened in the Ireland camp during the world cup. It made me understand his decision.

I just think he's smarter than people give him credit for and I'm sure he's laughing all the way to the bank anyway. Seems like he could give a sh*t what other people think and I like that.

He is a lunatic. I think if he wasnt a footballer he'd be in jail by now. I also think that no matter what the conditions were in the irish camp in Japan he shouldn't have walked out on his country. The frustrations he has regarding the irish camp wern't unfounded but by being the captain of the team he should set an example and not have a hissy fit.
And anyway, the training camp they were at wasnt even meantr to be a serious training session. But saying that I do agree with him that Mick MacCarthy is a total wanker and should never have managed the irish team.Keane is a great midfielder tho, no denying that

(sep 28 04, 14:34)Not a good attitude to have when you are playing for your country and families re-mortgaged their houses to fly out to Japan and see him play, only for him to fly home in a tantrum
- JazX0
yeah on that level sure, but all the rest of the time, I like his attitude, but I'll admit that time he F'ed up not playing in the WC.

Wish he played for Preston.
Walking out on his country showed what a c*nt he can be but at the end of the day, he has been one of the top three midfielders in the world over the last 10 years, certainly the best captain in top flight football.

ROOOOOOOOOONEY! A HATRICK ON A DEBUT ! WHA' - THATS UNHEARD OF / new thread maybe
- toe-knee0
3 goals against 'Fenerbahce'....
who?
- kezza_20
Still...impressive
As an Englishman its really exciting to see people like Rooney doing it. Roll on 2006
Rooney and Smith upfront, Lampard is playing well, Campbell and Ferdinand at the back.. Gerrard, Owen, Beckham, Joe Cole, Parker, Bridge, Christ I get wet thinking about it....
Just need a keeper now.

Being the devils advocate here kezza, but isnt that more or less the team ye had in portugal. I think the coach needs to re-evaluate the raw talent he has and let it flourish, not impead it with bad sideline tactics

I don't like the guy. Someone needs to go out there just to break his bloody legs. He's a pig on the field. Needs a taste of his own medicine.
He has a good football brain though.
