site in testing is here:
http://www.reganrosburg.com/stag…
using a js function for anchors so that i can have target be "_blank" but not in the xhtml so it will validate.....
if you check the "made by" link on the bottom of each page, or say the test links in the links section in Moz...nothing happens and i can't for the life of me figure out why
HELP por favor !!!!

firstly, target="blank" wont validate if your doctype is 'strict' but seeing as your's is 'transitional' it should really be ok to use that method.
i don't really know what you are having trouble with. is it that your links aren't opening in a new window when you are expecting them to or that the rollovers aren't working or that the links are not working at all?
the target property is a bit of a moot point as the w3 believe that the user should have the option to choose where a link should open, but then some links REALLY DO NEED to be opened in a new window like your link section for example.
anyway, nice site btw.

still crying over this.....any help would be appreciated
i am over in the moz user forums now, but with no luck
i DO want the targets to open in blank windows, but am controlling it through a js function so the page with eventually still validate
when i remove the js tho, the links in any section other then home do not even activate in Moz - like they aren't links at all
they just sit there laughing at me !

where are you actually calling the externalLinks function? I don't see it actually being run anywhere in the script files you have. in the body onload I only see the preloadimages and bluranchors functions.

function externalLinks() {
if (!document.getElementsByTagName) return;
var anchors = document.getElementsByTagName("a...
for (var i=0; i

Whoops...
basically your externalLinks() function calls for both "href" and "rel" to be external before placing the "_blank" in the anchor.
Been a while, I could be wrong.

Again, I fucked up, jesus christ I'm not even stoned... yet.
To make it clearer, you've got your JS saying that if both the "href" && "rel" == "external" then it should open in a "_blank" window.
However your "href" does not of course = "external" it's the URL.
Try dropping the "href" argument.

good thoughts guys
i am thinking it isn't js tho....infact, i am thinking the prob is actually css, z-index related
working on it now
thx again
- versa0
fixed !
it was a z-index prob in the css....i was writing the js menus on the fly and their z-index was conflicting with the z-index of their container
wheew
that one almost made me quit
