I made myself a new portfoliosite, i'm not a graphic designer and just an amateur photographer, but i'd still like to hear some comments
thanks in advance

it's very nice site, very easy to use. i love the photos, very different from general photos ;(

is this it?
http://www.janpostma.com/index.h…if so it's pretty nice...clean and effective...my only suggestion would be to fix some of the alignment with the main page text..for example increase the line height of the "gallery one, gallery two" etc. links and make sure they are all equal, and make sure the left alignment is all the same as there are some inconsistencies now...maybe make the "color" and "black and white" headings all caps or a different color
nice work overall tho

I really like your black and white imagery - are they edited in Pshop or something, or are you just that adept with camera filters and lighting?
Nice work. My only complaint - ohotography sites are nearly always black! :)

no photoshop, and yes black, it just works, i think

do you mind if i ask what sort of camera/process you use with your BW shots?
Your liberty Island photo is beautiful - I'd happily have that on my wall, very large!

hé jan,
pictures look good at a black background, also because there is a sort of middleofthenight-atmosphere around your pictures.
1 thing can be done better: the table you put your thumbnails in is being completely rebuilt every time i choose another picture.
you used also black images to create the space between the table cells. maybe use the html cellspacing?

yeah. i was going to mention the rebuilding too. also...instead of forcing the browser to click back and then click again to get to the next gallery - why not have the links available within each gallery?
just a thought.
nice work!

I mainly use ilford fp4 bw film, and process the film and photo's myself....
and the rebuilding, yes, i made this site intirely in photoshop, I used to use regular html, but i wanted to try this sometime.

and maybe not use abstract gallery names like "Gallery One", but create themes in a way that i know where i go when i click a link.

what do u use for the color film ?
I like the colored ones better than th b&w's.
- bolus0
i use different color slide films
by cross proccessing them you get a 'weird' effect.... the green/yellow ones are fuji films, the ones with a lot of grain are agfa ct or kodak

when i was studying graphic design i went to camerashops asking for films with expired dates.
i got those films for free and the effects after processing were sometimes unexpected nice too.
