is this really not a good idea....
much of what i read says so, but i want to essentially be able to run php scripts from my client/production machine, and am guessing its either IIS or Apache as choices for my "server"
anybody have specific configuration recommendations for a n00b to be able run .php scripts in the browser client side ?
thx

I've been using WAMP [MySQL, Apache and PHP on a Windows plattform] for years, no problem here.
Quite easy to install, and if you Dreamweaver is very easy to test your localhost in it.

it looks like the Wamp installer puts Apache 1.3... on your client........php.net recommends that lower version too, but i can't ascertain what the real dilemma would be with threaded files in Apache 2.0 and Windows..........thx for both those good resources !

running PHP 4.3.5, MySQL 4.0 and Apache 2.0.
no problem yet.
