I am working with an artist who wants to send out a mail campaign to select galleries and collectors. The card (or whatever this ting wants to be) needs to include an image of his work. Other than that the parameter are completely open. Does anyone know of some good precedence for this? Any ideas?
Always thankful...
ps if you are interested you can see some of his painting at www.arifdjan.net

i was doing email designs for a while, like what you're talking about. i would design the email in Photoshop, slice it up, and export it as html. Text can be added in Photoshop or as plain text in the html.
Size should be a conideration ... that is both image size and file size. Remember the mail client isn't going to have the width that a normal browser has. I usually aimed for around 450 px width.
The program we used to send out multiple email is called "Group Mail". There is a free version if this is a one time thing. http://www.infacta.com/gm.asp
hope that helps.
... and Hey! No Spam, right! ;)

also ... if you want to use css, it is possible. here's a good article:

remember test, test, and then test again ... especially in any popular web based email clients.

- chocodog0

those are some cool transitions ... and tell him his paintings are hot too!

yeah. the transitions are kinda bo bo. it's a series of gifs (4 per painting) that fade into one another.
