Nightmare job...I have created 3 spot colour artwork in Indesign CS only to find the printers we are using on this particular job do not have CS...they have Indesign 2 but the interchange feature that Adobe promised for saving to previous versions such as 2, doesn't work...Adobe appologises. Exporting a PDF from Indesign CS and importing that into Quark 5 does not import the spot colours as it would with an EPS and an EPS exported from Indesign will not preview in Quark 5 it will only give a placeholder image so I cannot position the EPS (wierd). Anyone have any Ideas/ suggestions? I'm waiting on the printers to see if they can and will print from a print ready PDF...
Thankyou all.

easiest thing would be to use another printer...
one that uses InDesign CS...

Tell me about it...It's all to do with budgets...I don't control those, I'm just the designer!!!

seems like a pdf should do it

if your file consists of only a few pages copy/paste them into illustrator! Most printers except illlustrator files...

i'd try the pdf route, if they can't print a pdf then they should be in the printing business.

Interesting problem. The eps will take the spots with it. Can't they open it in Illustrator. I can never copy and paste from In Design to Illustrator. Pdf should take the spots with it.
I hear the not choosing the printer thing. I fucking hate it when you are just given a phone number at the end of designing something and then have to sort it all all. That happens all the fucking time, it makes me so MAD!

sounds like you converted the spot colors to process when exporting a PDF.
i could be wrong... but did you specify "leave unchanged" in the color options when exporting?
you can click on the ink manager and view which spot colors will be exported.
