Ya know what? If George Bush wins the election, I'm going to be scared. Not scared of his leadership, scared of what these hard-core leftists are going to do if John Kerry loses.

i realize that sometimes leftists/liberals can be kinda scary and touchy-feely (ie. hippies). But i prefer that over some born-again religious zealot or multi gun toting fanatic (ie. current pres.)

I agree that someone is going to feel like they have to do something to be heard. I don't know if it is fair to guess it is liberals...i don't know if the people that are protesting are liberals but just people who don't like Bush.

if GW becomes president, you probably will have to worry about domestic terrorism more than you would if kerry would win.
common citizens doing desperate things.

mrdobolina, because you've seen these huge (500,000 plus!) protests taking place. These people are passionate about removing Bush from the Whitehouse. After their "peaceful" protest, they went to Central Park and played kickball with balls bearing the faces of Republicans. Here's some news excerpts which may illustrate my concern better:
"The demonstrators spilled onto nearby Sixth Avenue, disrupting traffic, and at least one person was arrested after he used a bullhorn to tell his colleagues to ignore police orders."
"Almost 700 people have been arrested in convention protest activity since late last week."
"The young man stood his ground, holding up his other hand and saying nothing. Other protesters rushed toward the police, shouting “Let him go!” The young man was hustled off."
Can you see why I'm getting a little concerned of what will happen if Bush is re-elected?

absolutely abstrakt. with this many people hating bush, I see what you mean.
but Do they have a reason?

"I just hope nobody steals this election"
Make up your mind. Last week Florida was considered "Bush country" during that MTV bullshit and now you say he stole Florida. Why would someone have to steal a state that you consider to be their state? You can't have it both ways.

Mimio, learn psychology. a good enough leader can turn a crowd of passionate people into a mob.

mrdobolina, the problem is the propoganda. Bush is a mentally-dificient murderer who sacrificed American lives for oil, acording to these people. Kerry realizes how many people believe this, so he uses it. Kerry actually said that he would never sacrifice American lives for oil. That is the stupident thing he's probably ever said. He's saying that if our oil was in jeopardy, he wouldn't send troops to secure it? BULLSHIT. If anything happened to that oil, our economy would go to hell and he knows it. He's playing off the fallacies these propogandists have crammed into these people heads.

abstrakt, you talk about kerry as though you have a crystal ball.
The real issue is who will be a better leader? Bush has alienated millions in our country, as evident by the largest ploitical protests in american history. If we can get a leader that will unite people, rather than divide, then that is a step in the right direction in my eyes.
think about how united the country was after 9/11 then contrast it to the present. Think of what caused that.
Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism. It was a cash grab to privatize Iraq, much in the way bolivia was privatized. They used to have cheap electric and water services, sponsored by the state, now that american interests have privatized their utilities, there are people that used to have power that no longer can afford to do so. its a sad state of affairs that will also be seeking out the average iraqi in the near future.
