problem with notepad on XP

  i just intsalled XP at home and everything was running great...and then out of the blue notepad screws up on me.

  if i double click a .txt file, notepad wont open. if i right click the .txt file and set it top open with notepad ... it says NOTEPAD in the list, but there is no icon.. weird.

  also, if i view source it just opens up a new notepad document.

  anyone have this problem before?
