yep that's the classic, but this one is a proper update, although the nod to the eames' can't be ignored.
I'd like to see what the nasa foam feels like.

I can picture myslef on that chair, stroking a big white cat plotting the downfall of the earth mwuhahha

or slipping exotic cocktails out of a vacuum sealed package with hot pan-am stewardess' floating around servicing me...

at least that fist got pushed down

not a fan of the teak veneer.
use teak or don't. a powder coat finish would be nice though.

Ugly but I guess it does seem quite comfortable.

Its more than a nod to the eames lounge chair... waiting to find out the price of it... but haven't replied yet... anyone know?

The nasa foam sucks big time..
You tend to get stuck in a hole because it forms itself from your ass and bodyheat...
Nothing beats the Eames

looks like a really shit knock off of eames beautiful creation.
looks all clunky and shit, and relly nothing like the original... i mean either copy it right or don't bother.
- rabattski0
maybe i don't understand it proper but "...inspired by the traditional scandinavian design..."? eames is american. and the original is not called wing chair but eames lounge & ottoman.
however i do prefer mies van der rohe's barcelona chair way more.
- rabattski0
agree though, this copy looks way too bulky.

I'm still lovin' it , especially over these wing chairs, any sweds out there going to help us out with the 'classic wing chair' reference...
- Raind0g0
Agreed. It doesn't have as much to do with the socialist Scandinavian modern aesthetic as it does with the more American upper class version. But it's a sign of the times - people are getting fatter - so they need a SUV version of the Eames lounge, and the visco-elastic will help sink those asses into place.
I feel like this thing needs a large cupholder on the side...

I've been working alot with Michael and Lyx and know the price of their furniture, I don't know about wing though but the table called 'bong' was meant to cost aprox. €8000.. Check out the light speaker instead, kicks ass... Btw, Lyx means, as most of you probably figured out already - luxury, in swedish...by using revolutionary materials, using bold proportions and play with perceptions etc i think they do create stuff that lives up to the name..

"by using revolutionary materials, using bold proportions and play with perceptions etc i think they do create stuff that lives up to the name.."
exactly. love it or not. i don't think it's wrong to 'update' or create a variation on a classic design, as long as it moves in new ways, technically but also contemporarily. but it sucks it's veneer (if it's true what bonseff says?), if it's gonna be hella' expensive why not use the real deal?
- DutchBoy0
that site with the 'outstyled' comic on it is a bit too cheesy imo. :/
- MLVR0
yeah, it sure is...

"I feel like this thing needs a large cupholder on the side... "
brilliant.
