Pay your bills? Switch to a new host? Use some common sense?
- del_razor0
he wasn't the one that didn't pay his bills... his hosting company screwed up .. or at least that's what the page says..
can you still access your FTP to the site? have you tried re-uploading your files?
it seems to me, that this might just be some sorta hijack/scam someone's conceived.. where they re-direct to that page and get you to pay them $50 just to move your stuff back or something..
call your hosting company and ask them what's up.. if nothing else.. you SHOULD have a backup of all files on your site... just call a better hosting company and get THEM to host your domain..

indeed, contact your hosting comp. looks like they're trying to screw ya.
- del_razor0
hmm
looked a little deeper..
what might be the case is..you got a hosting company that basically just "resells" hosting from Nuvo..
they didn't pay Nuvo their "franchising fees".. so Nuvo cut YOU off..
this may very well be the case.. but either way.. your reseller (the people you used for hosting) should be the ones in trouble here, however Nuvo is pretty stupid to cut off YOUR hosting because of their reseller's screw ups.. that's just not right for you..
contact both Nuvo (by phone if you can) and your reseller and get them on a conference call

I am not fussed about the files - I do have back ups. I only noticed this when my password was rejected by my mail server.
Del, I think you are right that they are 3rd party. I have tried to call this "company" (my host) but no one has answered for a few weeks.
All I want is my domain back and I will get another host . I just don't know how to go about it. I have no official documentation saying the domain is mine!
What can I do?
- blaw0
do a 'whois' look up...
http://www.networksolutions.com/…...and check to see that you are at least the administrative contact. if so, you're in good shape and can transfer the domain yourself.

You arent the registrant right? Its a good idea to bring-your-own registration if you really care about keeping your domain name... register it with Dotster, GoDaddy etc...
You should still have rights as the customer to claim your domain back from the host though.... and transfer it to another host.
- del_razor0
i agree with blaw..
just make sure the domain is registered to the correct person using a whois.. then just go find yourself a better hosting company..
they offer a good range of packages, and are always around for tech support from what a friend has told me..

man get ur empty colt semi-automatic pistol with matt finish then pick up the phone - when u hear them say hello - ask for their address and ask if u can pay via cheque(or check) and cock ya pistol over the mouth piece and pull the trigger (please make sure ur pistol is empty dont make the same mistake as my friend bobby "no ears") pull the trigger and make a gowning noise of satistifaction, repeat this process until the convo comes to an end, before u put down phone - mention how ur sort out payment after u "have found ur ammo" and say if u can pay in person - i think that should work -
dont worry if u miles away from the address - the further away the better i personally think the results will be.
also other additions could be to get angry at one of the kids for no reason while on the phone or pretend to kick the pet dog

Ok,
I have been in contact with Nominet - registry for .UK based domains. Did a WHOis search and found that I am not the registrant. I got in touch with them and they said I need to fill out a "domain dispute resolution service" form to get my domain. The problem is that I tried to contact my host for ages asking where my nominet certificate was and I had no response what-so-ever. This did worry me, but what could I of done? It was too late cause I had paid.
I was worried about this before I purchased, and thought I would get a recommendation from the peps on NT and unfortunately I picked a duff one.
I do have the registrants address though

you more or less are SOL, unless you have it backed up, which if you don't you're crazy. :)
- JazX0
unless you're referring to the hosting aspect of it, which in case you still own the domain name you just need to transfer it to a different hosting provider then ReUpload
- -sputnik-0
this is why i register all my own stuff, am the admin and then transfer to whomever, whenever.
i would hate to be in dancers' tap shoes

ahhhhh he's not as f*cked as he thinks
