hi all,
i'd like to add a 'site updated: DD/MM/YY' dynamic text function displayed on a flash file when the fil has been changed.
does anyone know how it's done?ta

u could use PHP's filemtime to check when was the file last modified.
http://pt2.php.net/function.file…
and then echo back the variable to flash.note: use the LoadVars object, it's more robust/versatile.

ta, have you also attempted to use php to check how many files are in a folder and then relay it back to flash?
- unfittoprint0
yep. for that I make an XML output [and treat the data as an XML object inside flash].
check:

A first reminder is tjhat one should separate the site backend architecture, content from its design. PHP+MySQL is the answer in my opinion.
So...
http://php.net it's always a great online resource.

you can't skip mySQL when dealing with PHP [why would u]. You'll find some great practical examples inside [message boards, ecommerce, even email].Some interesting books on the subject of Flash+PHP [altough some of the code is somewhat deprecated]:
