But is an animated desktop picture possible? For instance, let's say i know someone with a picture of their boyfriend on their desktop as wallpaper. Now let's suppose i wanted to maybe move the eyes every hour or so (slightly) until he's looking the opposite way by the end of the day. Or, maybe making him blink. Something small , quick and subtle. You know, to make her think she's losing it. Is it possible?

not that i can think of, but if you wanted, couldn't you set her desktop to be an 'active' desktop, have an html file with an swf embedded in it, and make it her active wallpaper essentially? not sure... just train of thought stuff

napoleon dynamite has a downloadable .swf desktop that's probably along the lines of what you want.

You can get an app for OSX that lets you use an OSX screensaver module act as the desktop background... and the screensaver could be running image slideshows or movies of whatever...
Must be something like that available for Windows as well...

i think the OSX one was actually demo'd at a keynote deal once. seems like i remember it was only because of the desktop being video card powered or something though
