Abizzy - The logical extreme of thinking that there is no absolute standard of truth/morality - that it is all subjective, is a Sodom & Gomorrah culture. Ultimately, Rome 2.0. If America continues to embrace this ideology... it will fall. No question about it - history attests to this. I say there is an absolute standard that we must measure against.

you should have seen the riot here when someone posted that boy and girl in Norway that got up on stage at a rockshow, in an act they called "fucking for the rainforest".
Bet someone around here has a link to that.

Such an over done subject, but if you look at he 'first things first manefesto' to be found on thev adbusters site, then I recon tahts where most people would like to sit.
At the end of the day if you are a republican work for them, if you smoke, then I see no reason not to work for Camel.
Live your design life like your own life... I dont by GAP for various resons so I wouldnt work for them, same goes for ciggies. Id work for Budweiser because I drink...
ah you get the idea

I believe anything that can be truly characterized as "religion" in it's common understanding is false.
This means people professing to be Christians who are trying to earn or perform their way into heaven. This means shamans, priests, gurus, lay-persons of any belief system that teaches one must perform or "work" to gain God's approval via rituals or some strict moral code.

froww...
... I actually agree with you. Whole-heartedly.
My comment on subjectivity was directed at this thread.
I believe there is one standard.
And may I answer Sodiums question about false religion?
There is one true religion - and they follow that set standard of morals... the rest are false.
- froww0
ah, gotcha.
- ribit0
"one standard" for morals?
"one religion ...the rest are false"
um.. who is deciding this?
and which one of the many are you talking about?
- froww0
One standard, yes. Instituted by the only one who is morally perfect. Who else? You? Me? Democrats? Republicans? I shudder to think.
No, not one religion. One faith. A faith that stands in stark contrast to works-based religions invented by humans that appeal to the human (sin) nature.

Let people think what the wanna fucking think/pray/do

*yawn... gotta go to bed now. G'night NT, sweet dreams... we can pick up with the loving debate in the A.M..
- ribit0
and who is this morally perfect one? do we have to guess?

i find it incongruous that you guys think the objectification of women is perfectly ok, but the selling and smoking of ciggies is evil.
one is degrading to a large group (still, incidentally, considered a "minority") whereas the other is a wholly personal, voluntary process.
for half a century now ppl have known cigs were bad, so the concept of the tobacco industry pulling the wool over anybody's eyes is absurd.

i wanna work for J.Lo as her personal nipple tweaker.
no moral qualms about that.

I'd work for anyone if i'm in need to get food to eat.. all said.
for those who can have a choice, that's because you don't need the money.
it's all market.. priests need a life, tobbacco employees need to raise their children, kids in the ghetto steal for a coin.
over.
- abizzyman0
you all have your morals - you all have your beliefs...
.. you've shared yours - and we've shared ours.
... only difference is I have respect for yours - and according to you (see previous threads to determine 'you')... my and others beliefs / morals are shite.
When are people going to show a little respect for other people's beliefs? If you don't agree... say so - but calling them a load of shite etc will get you no where in an argument.
grow up.

(sorry for my spell)

abizz...unfortunately that't the way it usually is around here. i feel exactly the same, but most people are too self righteous to understand that.
- slag_you_off0
choice is the luxury of the middle classes.
98% of the rest of the world don't have a choice, not could they buy some of the things you dont want to advertise...
the top 5% of earners advertise to the top 5% of purchasers.... really it is just all a nice little club.

that's right, slag_
