personally i don't think recruiters are much help, they seem to have quite boring contacts.
i work in fashion at the moment and i would love to find something in new york. seems pretty imbosible though.

what do you do in the fashion industry? you can come werk in the crappy company i work at...some of the perks are flying to Japan business class, then goto werk in China for 3 weeks in a sweatshop 7 days a week 19 hours a dday...thats your perk!

we have all types of positions...if you can draw, and want a G5 because every new hire gets the latest funstuff then come to us...we are located right across the street from the Empire State Building in the heart of the accessory industry...we have no dress code or drug tests and raises suck and bonuses aare crappy, but we have lots of cuties and we make product for the electronic industry. but if its graphics you want to do we have lots of openings for that...no website here...our brands are :BASE(AUDIO) ICON(COMPUTER) VIEW(CAMERA)

i am a designer (print) in graphics , layour, retail, branding,copywrting..etc...
and i have just graduated and am interested in moving to NY.

i werk for the Betesh Group / Motion Systems.
we do backpacks, computer laptop bags and notebook cases, audio and camera bags.
we dont do print, but we do heavy graphics: logos, hardware, screenprints, toys, etc.
we are a 30million profit a year company and stress is heavy at times...
in this industry its a real cut-throat backstabbing changing jobs yearly traveling overseas to asia every 4 months...blah!

well i am planning to make a visit in end aug and hoping to set up some interviews and apointments before hand and then see how it goes. I am an international studentand have to wait for temp workpermit which happens in oct.so if i have some solid leads i will move around then.
But i like the sounds of what you guys do i am very interested in doign design which encommpasses different aspects not onyl print!i am forn india and have lived in singapore and travelled around asia :)

the accessory industry is kinda brutal...crappy salaries, a ton of work hours, no over time, a lot of knocking off...i dont want to discourage you its a job...blahsendd me your resume, i pass it along to my superiors and anyone else i know that may be hiring
