too crowded, lame?
trying to keep it simple. its a
e-newsletter
- dddc0
try bringing the shit down from the menu bar.. leave some open space up top
- Soler0
Damn man, I need some plush chairs in my yard too!!!
j.k. Nice work. a little heavy looking, but thats the nature of brown.
- brandelec0
diggin the scheme, first thing i notice though is the color of your text, not enough contrast for me...
pretty nice for a newsletter
- Gilt0010
yeah I'm with triple d, it feels a bit crowded up top, but I'm not sure how. Maybe if your header was a bit taller? Yeah, that's it, taller header at teh top!
- Mimio0
Maybe make the titles jump out more? More contrast.
- MLPROJECT0
i'll agree at a taller folio... bummer you can't do colored scroll bars in mac IE, huh?
- brandelec0
don't know if you tried it yet, but how about heightening the whole top menu part w/ the title and laying it out on white, that's contrast for ya
- ribit0
that Sutherland logo sort of falls apart (spacing/proportion)
- BonSeff0
i had this one in the works too but when i export to gif the colors go to poo
- BonSeff0
heres an early one
http://www.sutherlandteak.com/de…does the lightness work better?
- MLPROJECT0
i like the dark backgrounds that you had to begin with... try making the top taller + lighter.. that might help break it up a litle bit and mak the hierarchy stronger
- MLPROJECT0
i didn't realize the difference at first, but i'd try the 2nd layout with the 1st layout's darker colors...
- versa0
higher bodyText contrast would be good i think...
don't understand the architecture...why have a main nav area/bar that represents links to sections that you have partially developed areas on in the "home" page...
why not have a more summarizing "home" or "main" area, that when you link to the different sections you get the full story
if you do want to have section intros/blurbs with leaders to learn more, maybe make them smaller and a side column in the "home" or "main" area
just a thought; hope that made some sense

i know what you are saying versa. i was told they want a newsletter and they have given me no content at all. im just trying to get the ball rolling.
you know how it is, once they see where it can go, they are suddenly the expert. i just want to get some key elements nailed down before they mash it upthanks all, back to it i guess. i'lll post another version with your suggestions
- versa0
word - good luck !
- TResudek0
The columns shoudl be the same width. Row 1,3 and 4 are basically two column layouts and they are split just a little differently. Try keeping the columns the same width.
