anyone know why flash would increase audio levels beyond original specs. Publish settings at mp3, 48 kbps, fast. these are playing with mpegs at same spec but are significantly hotter.
Thanks!

it's your compression settings

Can you elaborate?
- JazX0
what type of file are you bringing in first of all? Or are you importing an mpeg into Flash?
- kld0
mp3 or aiff
- JazX0
always bring in .wav and then export depending on how large you want your file to be. For speech use Audio Stream: Speec, 22kHz, Mono. For Music at: MP3, 44kHz. It also might have to do with your frame rate.

Thanks a bunch, Thats very helpful. Frame rate is 12 fps
Why only .wav?
BTW, these ar playing locally so file size isn't an issue.

well it might be different from what the mpeg is, get me? .wav is the best quality style format. so bring in the best and allow flash to compress it, if you bring an .mp3 in it will not loop and it is already compressed and Flash doesn't handle them well.

great, thanks for all your help!

Errr... WAV and AIFF are both natively uncompressed file formats. And thus both of equal quality.
More of a Mac vs PC issue in chossing between them.
