iTunes > 'Advanced' menu > Convert to AAC
You can change the file format in your iTunes preferences.

anything from Jawbreaker to pedro the lion,
seems a waste of a cdr?

I've heard through the grapevine that itunes has bumped their security.....
I haven't heard of any ways around it though....except to get an older version and STICK IT TO THE MAN.

Damn that's weird.
These are cd's that you bought and they won't load? thats straight up b.s.

don't use proprietary shit.
- de4k0
and we're back to the 'access privelages' shit again....
it must be the write-protection, but how come no-one else is having this shit
*shakes fist at screen

Try making a disk image of the CD through Disk Utility, then copying the tracks from that into iTunes, then 'convert to AAC/MP3'.
I don't think it's an iTunes problem though, I've never had a problem with importing a CD and I've got a few 'protected' ones.

yo man, do you own this music or not? that could be th eproblem
- de4k0
yeah i bought the stuff...
just want to fucking import and relax.........*must relax
- Soler0
Actually, "import" doesn't work for some reason if it is already on your HD
. You want to select "add to library"

I know soler.
I'm just gettin strung out.ok>>
jawbreaker 'dear you'
jets to brazil 'orange rhyming dictionary'
nick drake 'pink moon'
(for starters)all original discs
NO BLOODY CHANCE!!!can anyone import any of these ino itunes 4.6
- auricom0
i've never had that issue either, although i know CD's that are put out by Sony can gank your shit if you try to import them. which in turn has to deal with the CD manufacter rather then iTunes or Apple.
what are your import preferences set to in iTunes?

Ditch itunes and use audion.
- lilbabyarm0
define "gank your shit" ???
sounds dangerous
- kpl0
sounds like a file permissions problem. Maybe you should do a permissions check from Disk Utility?
- de4k0
import using: Apple lossless encoder
I am importing to an external hard drive, which has proved fine in the past.
The 'group' permissions is set to staff (me) - read and write
I 'm told that should be 'yourusername' not 'staff'??but my username isn't an option...
- contra0
Set them all to Read & Write and try again.

Certain albums are sold on a media format that technically isn't a CD. These "copy-protected" discs have faulty data and bad blocks of data in the music, so that when you rip it, it sounds narsty. Apple, agreeing with Phillips doesn't want to accept these because it's not a real CD.
- de4k0
yep, did all that.
anyone else having the same problem?
